ABOUT US

The Newport Antique Auto Hill Climb Pageant is seeking vibrant and respectful contestants to represent the Newport Hill Climb Festival!

The Newport Antique Auto Hill Climb contestants will be judged on personality and poise. Contestants will be judged in four categories- Interview 40 points; Introduction 20 points; On-Stage Question 10 points, and Festival Spirit 30 points.

The Princess & Queen will serve as the official hostess during the Hill Climb Festival Weekend. She must also agree to appear for and on behalf of the Newport Lions Club and/or the Director of the Pageant Committee in her official capacity as requested throughout the year until her successor is crowned.

The Queen, if eligible, will represent the Newport Antique Auto Hill Climb in the following year's Indiana State Festival Association Scholarship Pageant. This is held each year during their annual convention. *NEW IN 2025 - The Princess, if eligible, will represent the Newport Antique Auto Hill Climb in the following year's Indiana State Festival Association Scholarship Pageant. This is held each year during their annual convention. If for any reason the Princess/Queen is unable to complete the duties of their title, they will forfeit all their prizes and title to the First Runner-Up, who will assume all duties assigned to the Princess/Queen until their successor is crowned. Should the First Runner-Up also be unable to assume the duties of the Princess/Queen, succession will be determined by the Pageant Director. Any falsification of a contestant’s information, either on paperwork or verbal form during the competition, can result in automatic disqualification at the discretion of the Director.

The contestants will vote for one contestant as the recipient of the Miss Congeniality Award.

The judges will select one contestant as the winner of the Festival Spirit, Best Interview, and Miss Photogenic of the pageant.

The audience will select one contestant as the winner of Miss People's Choice by monetary donation. A cause will be voted on by the contestants at a pageant meeting.

The contestant crowned as Queen will receive a scholarship donated by Newport Lions Club upon the completion of her reign. The Queen will also have the opportunity to compete in the Indiana State Festival Association Pageant if she chooses and fits all requirement.

TO QUALIFY AS A CONTESTANT

1. Must reside in Vigo, Vermillion, Parke, Warren, or Fountain Counties.

2. Must have been born a female.

3. Princesses must be between 12 years of age and 15 years of age by November 7, 2026. Queens must be between the ages of 16 years of age and 22 years of age by November 7, 2026.

4. Must be enrolled in high school or a high school graduate by August 1st of the pageant year in which she will compete. Queens must be enrolled in college by August 1st in order to receive the scholarship.

5. Must have never been married, pregnant, or cohabitated, nor become so during your reign.

6. Must never have been convicted of a crime by local, state, or federal government nor do so during
your reign.

7. Must not be a professional model who earns her livelihood by modeling. (A woman who works for a
high school or college fashion board is not considered a professional model.)

8. Must remit a contest entry application to the Hill Climb Committee in time for them to receive it on or before July 19, 2026 along with a $30 entry fee.

9. Must be available to appear for and on behalf of the Newport Lions Club or the directors of the Pageant Committee in her official capacity as requested throughout the year and until her successor is crowned.

MEETING DATES

Pageant meetings are important to gain critical skills needed to compete in pageants such as interview skills, public speaking skills, personalizing your introduction and costume description, and more. While we would love for you to attend all of these meetings, we understand that other commitments may be made. Please let a member of the Pageant Committee know if you are unable to attend a meeting.
